Fire and Life Safety - 01 - Codes
  1. Comply with applicable requirements of the laws, codes, rules, regulations, ordinances, and standards as specified in the following:










  2. Comply with all applicable sections of this manual.


  3. Other recognized standards applying to the specific work shall be referenced in each division of the technical specifications.


  4. Effective building code date for University projects: Effective April 1, 1994, the edition of CCR, Title 24 (the California Building Standards Code) to be applied in the plan review of new and remodel building projects for the University of California will be the edition in effect at the time of the first submittal of Preliminary Drawings (design development drawings and specifications) - as defined in the State Administrative Manual (SAM), Section 1451.3 - to the Designated Campus Fire Marshal.


  5. The SAM definition is:


    The Preliminary Drawings shall include accurate floor plans, all building elevations,all significant building cross sections, all basic dimensions, and such descriptive details as developed to ensure the complete coordination of all building components. The site, utility and landscape plans are likewise developed to ensure the coordination of all site elements.

    The date of receipt of this first submittal will be the official date of record for the project. The edition of CCR, Title 24 (California Building Standards Code) in effect on that date will be applied for the duration of =.3]cthe project.


    In the event Preliminary Drawings (design development drawings and specifications) are not submitted to the the Designated Campus Fire Marshal prior to the submission of Construction Documents (working drawings and specifications), the edition of CCR, Title 24 (California Building Standards Code) in effect on the date of receipt of the Construction Documents by the Designated Campus Fire Marshal will apply.
